In addition to being Australia's premier provider of first aid services at public events and emergencies and undertaking Australian and international eye health initiatives, St John Ambulance Australia also provides other programs that aim to be of service specifically to young people in the community.
These include;
- St John Ambulance Cadets - Our flagship youth development program, cadets provide First Aid services to their community while developing valuable life skills - first aid, teamwork, management and leadership - just to name a few. There are heaps of opportunities for young people to meet new people, challenge themselves and be recognised for their achievements.
as well as the following Community Care programs;
- Project Survival (ACT) - This program provides basic first aid training to at risk young people, usually in youth refuge, or detox environments. For more information contact St John ACT.
- Program to Aid Literacy (NSW) -
A volunteer program designed to help primary school students experiencing problems with reading and writing. - Immunisation Program (NSW) - A volunteer program that provides assistance to the NSW Department of Health Immunisation Teams, who visit secondary schools to immunise students against a range of vaccine preventable diseases.
